Ebix Solution implemented — Ebix COI and Lens intelligence
The certificate was on file. Did the coverage meet the contract?
A compliance team connected contract requirements, insurance evidence and deficiency follow-up in an AI-assisted workflow.

The certificate had arrived, but the review was unfinished
A property operator had received a vendor’s certificate of insurance. Its presence in the system suggested that onboarding was progressing, yet the agreement’s insurance requirements still needed to be checked against the supporting evidence.
The compliance team began with the contract. It separated clear requirements from terms that needed clarification, then established which documents supported the review.
AI helped organize the evidence
The team used Ebix COI’s Contract Intelligence to identify agreement requirements and Policy Intelligence to support examination of policy and endorsement information. AI-assisted follow-up formed part of the deficiency workflow.
The reviewer worked through the evidence in context. Ambiguous wording or incomplete documentation remained an exception for specialist attention. The process did not treat extracted text as a completed compliance decision.
The exception became a piece of work
An unresolved item identified the requirement, the material already examined and the information still needed. That gave the reviewer a specific basis for requesting documentation or escalating a question.
The team kept the issue open while awaiting a response. When additional evidence arrived, it was reviewed against the original requirement. Sending an email was recorded as an action, rather than mistaken for resolution.
The record explained the decision
The process connected the agreement, supporting documents, follow-up and review outcome. Someone returning to the file could understand why a decision had been made and which questions had required judgement.
The value lay in following the requirement through to a reviewed outcome. Contract terms, supporting evidence and unresolved questions stayed together, with specialist judgement available where the documents alone did not provide a clear answer.
Measure resolution, not just extraction.
