At Ebix, we start with the data a workflow is authorized to use and the purpose it serves. Our approach separates using information to complete a task from using it to train a model. We define access, retention and processing requirements, and use minimization, masking or de-identification to reduce exposure of personal and sensitive information.
We give each agent a business owner and a defined purpose. That owner helps establish which systems, data and actions belong within its role, and where it must stop or seek approval. As the agent’s responsibilities change, we review its authority rather than simply giving it broader access.
We keep people accountable for important decisions. Our approach makes the agent’s sources, proposed action and limitations visible to the person reviewing its work. We define approval points for consequential actions and escalation paths for uncertainty, exceptions and decisions that require specialist judgment.
