EbixCash Collaborates with Banking Circle to Simplify Cross-Border Payments for Students, Travellers, and Businesses

Ebix Risk Launches WC Exchange

With an aim of simplifying and strengthening the overseas payments for Indian students, travellers, and businesses, EbixCash World Money Limited has entered into a new partnership with Banking Circle. As part of this collaboration, the company looks forward to routing international transfers through Banking Circle’s local clearing systems, enabling quicker, transparent settlements across major global markets, particularly in the UK and EU corridors.

EbixCash World Money, as one of India’s leading foreign exchange and outward remittance providers, is strengthening its digital payments infrastructure to meet the growing demand for seamless international transactions. By integrating Banking Circle’s proven local clearing network, the company can now offer direct settlements through local rails, reducing wait times, cutting costs, and ensuring regulatory compliance for users.

Beyond this, the alliance also streamlines global remittances by removing intermediary fees, reducing delays, and simplifying documentation. Moreover, it also paves the way for wider cross-border payout solutions for corporate and SME clients, subject to regulatory approval.

To put it short, here’s how this collaboration will enhance the cross-border payment experiences:

  • Faster and more reliable payments for students and travellers
  • Reduced hidden fees and clearer traceability
  • Stronger compliance and documentation support
  • Scalable infrastructure for future cross-border payouts to SMEs and corporates

Commenting on this coalition, T.C. Guruprasad, MD & CEO of Payment Solutions at EbixCash, said, “The partnership marks a major shift in how Indian customers will move money abroad. By bringing together EbixCash World Money’s AD-II capabilities and Banking Circle’s direct clearing infrastructure, we are giving Indian students, travellers, and businesses faster, more transparent, and more reliable international payment options.”

He also stressed that setting up our own multi-currency nostro is a significant step forward for the company, as it will allow us to move from an agent-based model to an infrastructure-grade payments feature that reduces uncertainty and improves customer experience.

The integration of Banking Circle’s virtual IBANs and structured reference system will also make it easier for universities, intermediaries, and end-users to track payments, manage documentation, and reconcile transactions, removing several hidden complexities from the process.

Reflecting on Guruprasad’s insight, Mishal Ruparel, Chief Commercial Officer at Banking Circle, said, “We have decisively collaborated to build a future-ready payments ecosystem that could address existing market gaps”. He added further, “The combined strengths of the two companies will help enable faster, transparent, and compliant global remittance services for Indian customers.”

In this reflective initiative of Guruprasad, Dr Vikas Garg, the Chairman of Ebix and Vikas Group, says, “This collaboration reflects a key advancement in meeting the growing demand for secure and efficient cross-border transactions, benefiting international students, families sending funds abroad, and global businesses. Furthermore, this partnership also reinforces Ebix’s continued investment in creating modern financial infrastructure and strengthens our position as a leader in India’s foreign exchange and cross-border remittance ecosystem.”
